At Wenlock CE Academy, our class names are encompassed within our school ethos. The Creation Story inspires us to connect our whole community and the year-long journey through our school for each pupil.

Year 3 starts with Alpha, Omega and Genesis. Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, and Omega is the last. This represents the infiniteness of God. He came long before everything else and will be here long after all has passed on. Genesis is the first book of the Bible.

Year 4 takes us to the first day and celebrates light: Aurora for dawn, Vesper for the evening, and Alina for the Greek word for light.

Year 5 represents the fourth day—Solar, Lunar and Stellar for the sun, moon and stars.

Year 6 takes us to days five and six. The creation of the creatures of the sea for Aquarium, the creatures of the sky for Aviary and the creatures mostly living in the trees for Arboreal.
